When you send an SOS or a silent alarm, Aegixo can record about 15 seconds of the sound around you and send it to campus security with your alert, so they can hear what is happening.
What to know
- It is your choice. The app asks once, and it stays off until you say yes. You can change your mind at any time in Settings, under Voice clip with SOS.
- It records once, only when you trigger an alert. It never records at any other time, and it stops by itself after about 15 seconds.
- It is not secret. Your phone shows its microphone indicator while it records.
- Who can listen: your own campus security team and Pavictek's response staff when they assist. Each time someone listens is logged.
- It is deleted automatically 30 days after the alert closes. See How long Aegixo keeps your data.
- If you cancel the alert before the 15 seconds are up, the recording is thrown away and not sent.
Turn it on or off
- Open the Settings tab.
- Under Safety, switch Voice clip with SOS on or off.
- If your phone asks for microphone access, allow it. If you turned microphone access off for Aegixo in your phone's settings, you will need to allow it there too.
The clip can take a few seconds to reach security after the alert itself, and on a weak signal it may not arrive at all. The alert always goes through either way.
