Aegixo only works if people can trust it. This policy sets out what we expect from everyone who uses it, whether you are a student, campus security staff or Pavictek staff. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Use SOS and silent alarm for real situations
- Send an SOS or silent alarm only when you or someone near you genuinely needs help.
- If you send one by mistake, cancel it in the app straight away so security can stand down.
- Do not use alerts as a test, a joke or a way to get attention. False alarms pull responders away from real emergencies.
2. Respect other people
- Do not use Walk with Me, or any other feature, to follow, monitor or pressure someone who has not freely agreed.
- Only invite people you know to a walk, and only accept invitations from people you trust.
- Do not use Aegixo to harass, threaten or impersonate anyone.
3. Report honestly
- Incident reports must describe something that really happened or that you genuinely believe happened.
- Do not use anonymous reporting to make false accusations or to target a person.
- Do not upload unlawful content, including intimate images of anyone without consent.
4. Keep the platform secure
- Do not try to access another person's account, or any dashboard or system you have not been given access to.
- Do not share your account, and keep your password private. Tell us if you think someone else has it.
- Do not probe, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service, or try to get around its limits or protections. To report a vulnerability, follow our responsible disclosure process.
5. Staff responsibilities
Campus security and Pavictek staff may use their access only to respond to alerts and reports. Staff must not look up students out of curiosity, copy or share student information, or use it for any other purpose. Staff actions are recorded in an audit log, and misuse can lead to account suspension and referral to the institution or the authorities.
6. What happens if these rules are broken
Depending on how serious the breach is, we may warn you, limit features, suspend your account or end it. We may tell your institution where safety is involved, and report unlawful conduct to the authorities. If we suspend your account you can ask us to review the decision by emailing hello@aegixo.com.
7. Reporting misuse
If you see someone misusing Aegixo, or you are being targeted through it, email hello@aegixo.com with as much detail as you can. If anyone is in danger, contact the emergency services first.
