What we collect, why we collect it, and the limits we hold ourselves to.
Last updated: 30 July 2026
Pavictek Digital Limited ("Pavictek", "we", "us") builds and operates Aegixo. This policy explains what personal data Aegixo collects from students and campus security personnel, how it's used, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Aegixo mobile apps, the security dashboard, and this website.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you register, we collect your full name, a unique username, phone number, email address, your polytechnic, and (optionally) your matriculation number. Your password is stored as a one-way cryptographic hash — we never store or have access to your actual password.
Location data. Aegixo requests your device location only when you trigger an SOS alert, use Silent alarm, or start a Walk with me session. That location is attached only to the specific alert or walk it was recorded for — we do not build or store a general history of where you've been. See "How long we keep it" below for how long alert location data survives.
Emergency contact (optional). If you add an emergency contact's name and phone number, it's visible to your campus security team only during an active alert involving you.
Payment information. Your annual subscription is processed by Nomba, a licensed Nigerian payment service provider. Aegixo does not receive or store your card number, bank details, or full payment credentials — Nomba handles that directly and shares only a transaction reference and status with us.
Push notification token. To deliver safety-related notifications (a walk invite, an alert status update), your device registers a token with Firebase Cloud Messaging (operated by Google). This token identifies your device for delivery purposes only.
Technical data. Like most apps, we log basic technical information (IP address, device/OS version, timestamps of requests) for security, fraud prevention, and debugging.
2. How we use your information
- To operate the SOS, Silent alarm, and Walk with me features — including connecting you to your campus security team in real time.
- To verify your identity and maintain your account.
- To process your subscription and confirm active access.
- To send you safety-related and account notifications.
- To investigate misuse (e.g. false alarms) and keep the platform safe to use.
3. Who we share it with
Your campus security team sees your name, phone number, live location, and emergency contact only for alerts you trigger at your own polytechnic. Security personnel at other institutions cannot see your data — access is scoped strictly to your own school.
A Walk with me companion you invite sees your live location only for the duration of that walk, and only because you chose to invite them.
Nomba processes your subscription payment. Google/Firebase delivers push notifications. Neither is permitted to use your data for their own marketing purposes.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone, for any reason.
Our location commitment
Location is only ever attached to a specific SOS alert or Walk with me session — never logged as a standalone "where has this student been" history. Once an alert is resolved, its location trail is automatically deleted after 30 days.
4. How long we keep it
Location records tied to a resolved SOS alert are purged after 30 days. Your account information is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain limited records (e.g. transaction records) for legal or regulatory reasons.
5. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, and withdraw consent to processing where consent is the basis for it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@aegixo.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
6. Who Aegixo is for
Aegixo is built for currently enrolled polytechnic students. If you believe a minor has registered an account without appropriate authority, contact us and we'll investigate.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls that scope security personnel to their own institution's data. No system is completely immune to risk, and we continue to invest in improving these protections as Aegixo grows.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Aegixo's features evolve. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Aegixo after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
9. Contact us
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to hello@aegixo.com, or via our contact page.
