Respond to an alert

Acknowledge, go to the student, and close the case with a report.

Updated 13 October 2026

  1. Open the alert. It opens automatically for a new one, or click an alert card on Live alerts.
  2. Read the picture. You see who raised it, any medical details, emergency contacts, the live location and trail on a map, and the nearest police, ambulance, fire and hospital services with phone numbers and directions.
  3. Acknowledge. Click Acknowledge so the student, and your colleagues, know someone is on it. The student's app shows Acknowledged.
  4. Reach them. Click the phone number to call the student or an emergency contact, or use Directions to student to go to them.
  5. Resolve. Once the student is safe, click Resolve and write what happened and how it ended (at least 10 characters), then confirm. This closes the case and records your report.

Good to know

  • If the student cancels, the alert shows as cancelled and there is nothing to action.
  • A resolved alert cannot be acknowledged again.
  • The student's location keeps updating on the map while the alert is open.
  • Your views and actions are recorded in an audit log.
